Ruana Vasquez
Ruana Vasquez began her dance journey in 2004, in Fortaleza (CE). With over 20 years of career, she has shared her art in more than 20 countries. A specialist in Brazilian Zouk and Lambada, she also has experience in Forró, Samba, Bolero, Salsa, Tango, Kizomba, Bachata, and West Coast Swing. A pioneer of a female solo career in Zouk and Lambada, she is recognized for navigating styles, improvisation, refined technique, and versatility as both leader and follower — hallmarks that also shape her work as a teacher.
She is a Director of the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council (BZDC), where she serves as judge and competitor in the Champion category. She won titles at the Brazilian Zouk World Championship (2022/2024) in All Star/Champion JnJ and Solo divisions, and she has judged major events such as Zouk Open (São Paulo) and the International Zou(k) Championship (Rio de Janeiro). She also has competitive experience in Salsa and West Coast Swing.
Renowned for community development, Ruana has had decisive impact on the Fortaleza and California scenes, among others. Since 2017 she has taught and lectured in the teacher training program of Alex de Carvalho’s method (Paris), and more recently in the Zouk Soul Flow Teacher Training (Bali – 2024/2025), coordinated by Layssa Valentina.
She currently resides in Fortaleza, focusing on strengthening the local scene while working internationally and expanding her reach through online courses — consolidating her as a global reference in Zouk and Lambada.
