Philip Miha
Philip Miha is a teacher, choreographer, and cultural producer with a career spanning more than three decades dedicated to dance. With a degree and postgraduate studies in Physical Education, he has taught since 1988 and is recognized worldwide as a leading reference in Lambada and Brazilian Zouk.
His solid academic training, combined with extensive practical experience, led to the development of an exclusive teaching method for Brazilian Zouk that blends technique, body awareness, and well-being. More than teaching steps, his method promotes balance between mind and body, improving students’ quality of life. The methodology is presented under the brand “Zouk by Philip Miha,” featured in classes, events, and cultural productions.
Since 2002, Philip has worked as a cultural producer, promoting shows, championships, and events that helped popularize Zouk in Brazil — including dance nights at Carioca Club and Memphis, which became national references. He is widely recognized as the leading promoter of Zouk in Brazilian media, with appearances on shows such as Programa do Jô, Mais Você, Estrelas, and Altas Horas. He was also a judge on “Dança dos Famosos” (Rede Globo) in 2017 and 2018, and contributed to artistic productions including choreography for the pop group Rouge.
His presence in international dance congresses is notable: he participated in events in the Netherlands (2006), Barcelona (2008, 2011, 2012), and India (2009) — the latter alongside Sheila Mello at the World Dance Festival. He represented Zouk in ten editions of Brazil’s largest ballroom dance cruise, “Dançando a Bordo,” and joined events such as Cruzeiro Movida Latina (2012, 2013), Baila Floripa (2008, 2010), and Baila Costão (2008–2015).
Philip currently coordinates the ballroom dance division at Estúdio Anacã in São Paulo, where he has taught since opening and developed “Aerozouk,” a modality that blends aerial movement, fluidity, and expression. Since 2018 he has created and organized Brazil’s first Zouk Cruise — “Zouk Sailors,” an event uniting dance, tourism, and culture.
Over his career, Philip has taught artists and public figures such as Maria Fernanda Cândido, Sheila Mello, Hortência Marcari, Cristiane Torloni, Fernando Scherer (Xuxa), and Mariana Ferrão. With accessible pedagogy, contagious energy, and commitment to the evolution of dance, Philip Miha continues to inspire generations and strengthen the legacy of Brazilian Zouk in Brazil and beyond.
